Carl Benjamin Taylor

Carl Benjamin Taylor, age 90, of Bear Grass, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Ballad Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn. A dedicated veteran, Carl proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, including three tours in Vietnam as a Medic. After retiring from military service, he went on to manage the housekeeping department at the Williamston and Washington, N.C. area hospitals.

He was born January 5, 1935, to the late Sylvester Taylor and Nealie Jones Taylor in Williamston, N.C. In addition to his parents, Carl was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carrow Taylor; and 10 siblings.

Carl is survived by six children: Carla Ward and husband, Brad, of Washington, N.C.; Tom Taylor of Stokes, N.C.; Monica Hall and husband, Doug, of Williamsburg, Va.; Trish Carlton and husband, Larry, of Abingdon, Va.; Kay Perry and husband, Michael, of Monroe, N.C.; and Mandy Taylor of Bear Grass, N.C.; two siblings, Rose T. Leggett and husband, Danny, and Tony Taylor and wife, Jane, all of Bear Grass, N.C. seven grandchildren, Matthew, Tessie, Kyle, Kinsey, Lori, Becky and Sara; three great grandchildren, Brylee, Nash and Oscar.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Taylor Family Cemetery in Bear Grass, N.C. with Pastor Bill Groce officiating.
