Charles James "Boogie" Rosenbaum, Jr., age 85, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1941, to the late Charles James Rosenbaum, Sr. and Yada Spriggs Rosenbaum in Damascus, Va.
In addition to his parents, Boogie was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eva Lou Moore Rosenbaum; daughter, Nola Vivian "Sis" Hoggard; eight siblings; and a son-in-law, Richard "Rick" Jenkins.
Boogie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed pickleball. One of his greatest passions was music, especially playing the guitar with the Damascus Traveling Band.
He is survived by three children: Rhonda Jenkins Hughes and husband, David, of Chesapeake, Va.; Yada Rosenbaum Callanan, of the home; and Charles James Rosenbaum, III and wife, Tammy, of Lynchburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Sharon, Alex, Kayla, Kelsey, Rachel, and Reed; one sister, Betty Donely; one brother, David Rosenbaum and wife Cathy; and special friend, Lucy Looney.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Allison Whitman for her friendship and wonderful care.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at his home from 1 to 4 p.m.
