Cheryl Lynn Mullins Davenport, age 63, of Abingdon, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. She was a career esthetician by trade, beginning with her hair shop, Cheryl's Hair Studio in Abingdon, VA. As her career developed, she was later employed as an administrative assistant at the Emory & Henry Powell Resource Center. She took great pride in her work to connect the students of E&H with any and all supportive resources she could gather.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleta Inette Robinson Gilmore; her father, William Harvey Mullins; and three siblings, Donna Kay Sproles, Tammy Mullins, and William "Bill" Lee Mullins.
She is survived by four children: Breanna (Josh) Bebber of Bristol, VA; Jaclyn Davenport (Avery Widener) of Damascus, VA; Jillyan Davenport (Joseph Simpson) of Seattle, WA; and Jacob (Emma) Davenport of Abingdon, VA; brother, Bobby Gilmore of Abingdon, VA; seven grandchildren, Abigail B., Mason B., Josephine W., Harper B., Michael D., Henry D., and Charleigh B.; special friend, Tracy Grissett; and a host of extended family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Caris Healthcare.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the main lobby of the McGlothlin Center for the Arts in Emory, VA.
