Eugene Robert Hody

Eugene Robert "Gene" Hody, who passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Bristol Health & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 89.

Born February 23, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Andrew Hody and Eva Kasltz Hody, Gene was formerly employed by World Publishing in Cleveland and was of the Russian Orthodox faith.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Anna Marko Hody; three siblings, James Hody, Thomas Hody, and Eve M. Burns; and his daughter, Mary Ann Frederick.

He is survived by five children: William Frederick (Jackie) of Abingdon, Va.; Barbara Frederick of Abingdon, Va.; Rose Marie Blake (Dave) of Cleveland, Ohio; Bonnie Lee Young of Abingdon, Va.; and Annette Taworski (Gary) of Naples, Fla.; as well as 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
