Geneva Frances "Jean" Harman, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Commonwealth Senior Living.
Born in Buchanan, Va., to the late Ulysses Jackson and Ettis Breeding Jackson, Jean was a dedicated member of her community. She served as an auxiliary volunteer at Johnston Memorial Hospital for many years and worked as a substitute teacher at the former Garden Elementary School. Her hobbies included yard work of any kind but especially gardening.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by seven siblings: Fern Lowe, Fred Jackson, Bill Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Joan Maxwell, Suzie Hughes, and John Jackson.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry Ford Harman; two children, Greg Harman and wife, Beth, of Tazewell, Va., and Beth Farmer and husband, David, of Raven, Va.; two grandchildren, Matthew Farmer and wife, Marisa, of Swords Creek, Va., and Tyler Harman of Tazewell, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Madilynn and Colton Farmer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
