Jamia Michelle McClanahan

Jamia Michelle McClanahan, age 49, of Grundy, Va., passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Born to the late James Arthur “Buck” McClanahan, Jr. and Wanda Lou Boyd McClanahan on September 20, 1974, Jamia dearly loved her family and friends. She was incredibly personable and truly never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, Jamia was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy “Jimbo” McClanahan, and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her daughter, Shayna Childers and her husband, Hunter; son, Garrett Matney; sister, Krissy Charles and her husband, Benjie; brother, Rik McClanahan and his wife, Karen; sister-in-law, Tena McClanahan; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.
