Jean Eléna Matheny, 61, of Lebanon, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, with her loving husband, Harold Harrison Matheny, by her side. She was predeceased by her adoptive parents, John and Hellen McKay, and birth siblings, Judy Fowler and Luck Fowler. Beyond her husband Harold, she is survived by her dear children and grandchildren; daughter, Samantha Jo Vandeberg (Thomas); and grandchildren, Sage and Will; daughter, Michelle Lyndsay McKay; and grandchildren, Neveah, Colt, Bradley, and JoJo; daughter, Sarah Whitney McKay (Michael Platt); and grandchildren, Serenity, Eléna, Adam, and Cody; and son, Matthew Harrison Matheny. She is also survived by siblings, JJ McKay, Jeanie Fowler, and Johnna McKay, along with many loved nieces and nephews.

Jean was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend, known in her community as "Mama Jean." She will be deeply missed, loved, and always remembered.
