Laurie Smith

Laurie R. Smith, age 74, originally of New Jersey, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Abingdon Health & Rehab.

Laurie was born to the late Harry and Priscilla Grutzner in The Bronx, NY, on May 25, 1949. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Roy Gerecke, Jr; and her nephew, William Wicht.

She is survived by her sons, Bryan Patrick (Claudia) and H Michael Patrick; her sister, Ellen Wicht; her grandchildren, Max and Kayla Patrick; her great grandchildren, Jasper and Amadeus; one niece, Elizabeth Ann Wicht and one nephew, James Wicht; and many friends.

She was a member of The American Legion Post #12 and the Emory College Community Club. She proudly served her country for 18 years in the Navy Reserve as a Yeoman. Laurie also loved to read and crochet.
