Neil Carlisle

On October 20, 2026, Neil Carlisle, at the ripe age of 82, took his last earthly breath, immediately followed by his first heavenly breath.

He lived, laughed, loved and served his country. Neil spent his life filled with a variety of adventures. As a teenager, he built and raced boats and cars. As an adult, he was a paragolfer, crackerjack shot, participating in number 2 IDPA competitive shoots, skilled in the art of scroll saw, business owner/operator and born with the gift of gab, a top-notch salesman.

On May 20, 2007, Neil made one of the biggest decisions of his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and this decision has brought great comfort to his family.

Neil leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Sylvia; son, Sean; and grandchildren, Lillian and Quinten of Virginia.

Along with family in California and Idaho, special acknowledgement is given to Pastor Jim Jenkins of Oregon, who brought him to Christ. Dr. Don Paxton and Pastor Darius Bowman, of Virginia, who were instrumental in his growth and understanding of his faith.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please don’t wait until it’s too late. There is a Heaven to make and Hell to miss.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rosedale Baptist Church, 26396 Lee Hwy., Abingdon, VA 24211, with Pastor Darius Bowman officiating.
