Patricia ("Pat") Ellen Gilreath Davis, age 76, died suddenly at her home in Bristol, TN on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was born in Chelsea, MA on December 5, 1948 to Robert Lee Gilreath, Sr. and Jeannette (St. Laurent) Gilreath. Pat lived in Massachusetts until second grade, then lived in Nashua and Manchester, NH before moving to Knoxville, TN in 1960. She lived in New Hampshire from 1964 until 1968, and lived in Kentucky for a couple of years before making her home in Cincinnati in 1973. It was there she later met her husband Danny and together they moved to Bristol in 2007 to live near and to help out with her niece and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jeannette; her husband, Danny Davis; and brother, Robert Lee Gilreath, Jr. Left to grieve her passing includes her sister, Jeannene Thompson, and brother-in-law, Johnny Thompson, of Abingdon, VA; her niece and God-child, Shannon Thompson Love, and husband, Paul "Bo" Love of Bristol, VA; three nephews: Johnny Thompson, Jr., and wife Natifany, of Seattle, WA; Robert Gilreath III, and wife, Shannon of Cincinnati, OH; and Matthew Gilreath, and Will Gilreath, both of Fort Thomas, KY. Patricia leaves behind one great-nephew, Robert Gilreath IV, of Cincinnati; and seven great nieces: Delaney Love of Johnson City, TN; Callee-Scout Love of Williamsburg, VA; Lydia Jeannette Thompson of Richmond, KY; Lillian, Emma, and Piper Gilreath of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; and Gracie Gilreath of Cincinnati. Also left behind to mourn her loss are special cousins and many friends, especially her God-gift of "brother" Jamie and "sister" Dawn Lawless.
Patricia worked as an inspector for Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, OH then for GE as an inspector of jet air engines in Evandale, OH (Cincinnati area). It was after both she and her husband retired that they decided to relocate to Bristol. She was a new member of State Street United Methodist Church and was in the process of becoming a Daughter of the American Revolution, Black's Fort Chapter in Abingdon. Pat loved spending time with her family, enjoyed the holiday gatherings around the table, and would strike up a conversation with people she would meet in the grocery store. She loved and enjoyed her 13-year-old cat Missy who is also missing her human Mom. Pat has left a multitude of people behind who loved her and appreciated her in ways she could never have imagined. They are all blessed to have had this special person in their lives.
