Peggy June Fields

Peggy June Fields, age 85, of Abingdon, Va. and formerly of Baltimore, Md., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center. She was born February 25, 1939, in Pound, Va. Peggy retired from Aramark after 20 years of service and was a member of Pleasant View Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Boggs Rash; her husband of 13 years, Harold Dean Fields, who died in 1974; and two brothers, Robert Ray Boggs and Joe Tom Rash.

Peggy is survived by two children, Steven D. Fields and husband, Michael Wancowicz, of Baltimore, Md. and Joyce Griffin and husband, Christopher, of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Jim Rash and wife, Sandy, of Abingdon, Va.; three grandchildren, Andrea Stokes and husband, Robert; Shannon Griffin; and Ashleigh Griffin and companion, Hunter Moore, all of Abingdon, Va.; special niece, Angela Rash of the home; additional nieces, Mary Rash and Kayla Fulwider; and a nephew, Michael Rash.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at Pleasant View Methodist Church, 18416 Lee Hwy., Abingdon, Va., with the Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service.
