Rita Maria Couch

Derita, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the age of 50.

Derita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jared Couch, and adored son, Evan Bowman.

Survivors include her parents, Mary and Allen Phillips; and father, Steve Canter; sister, Rhonda Miller and husband, Justin Dishman; three brothers: Garrett Phillips and Kayla Jones; Travis Canter; and Matt Canter; granddaughter, Harper Bowman; three nephews, Riley Miller, Dylan Miller, and Mason Phillips; three nieces: Emily Miller and husband, Jakob Cross; Lauren Epperson; and Kinsley Phillips; great niece, Maddie Miller; great nephew, Brantley Miller; special aunt, Doris Sloan; many friends; and her sweet dog, Zoe.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, her laughter and the love she freely gave to those around her.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Ordway Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Bristol, Tenn., with Pastor Coy Webb officiating. Jacob Cross, Justin Dishman, Dylan Miller, Riley Miller, Garrett Phillips, and Mason Phillips will serve as pallbearers.
