Shirley Dolores Booher

Shirley Dolores Hoss Booher, age 89, of Abingdon, Va., joined her fur-babies in Heaven on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home. She was from the Greendale Community of Washington County, Va. but lived most of her life in Bristol, Va. before her eventual relocation to Abingdon. She loved her dogs and cats. Her home was a magnet for many of the forgotten ones. Shirley also loved planting flowers. She worked for the Gordon Garment Company for 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Sam and Faye Hoss; mother and stepfather, Lucille and Don Bell; grandparents, Charlie and Josie Lewis; three brothers, Dick, Kenneth, and George Hoss; sister, Helen Rutledge; daughter, Barbara Carol George; and daughter-in-law, Joann M. Booher.

Shirley is survived by two children, Gary S. Booher of High Point, N.C. and Micki Booher Paul and husband, Gary, of Telford, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Steven Booher; Stephene Ball and husband, Troy; Amanda Miller and husband, Mike; and Allen Paul; six great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Joe Mink officiating.
