Deborah serves as the Director of both the Ladies’ Ministry and Senior Adult Ministry at her Church. Throughout the years, Deborah has served as the director of children’s, youth, and drama ministries in other churches, as well as coordinated and spoken at ladies’ conferences and events.

Deborah is retired from a career as a Legal and Executive Administrator for law firms, financial institutions, and corporations. Deborah loves being a pastor’s wife and supporting and participating with her husband, Pastor Bill, in visitation and other aspects of his ministry. She loves tea parties, hiking and spending time with her many friends.

Chloe Coulthard is a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va. From an early age, Chloe was taught the value of community and serving others with an open mind and an open heart. She attended Emory & Henry College and Radford University, where she studied English with a concentration in professional and technical writing. Chloe is currently enrolled in the online Applied Mortuary Sciences program through Des Moines Area Community College and, upon completion of the program, anticipates being dual licensed as a funeral director and embalmer. To better serve her community, Chloe also received her Crematory Operator’s Certification through the Cremation Association of North America. In her free time, she can be found outside with her dog, Lily, or out and about with her grandfather, Harold, and her fiancé, Zach. Chloe & Zach are members of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bristol, Va.

Mackenzie, spouse of Suzanne Riley, has lived in Abingdon his entire life and is a graduate of Abingdon High School. Mackenzie has six years’ experience with providing funeral services.  Mackenzie is currently serving as a First Responder and is passionate about protecting the citizens of the community as well as providing comfort to all in need. Mackenzie’s kind and compassionate nature is precisely depicted through his belief that all families should be treated with compassion and respect throughout their funeral service experience.


Suzanne Riley

Suzanne, spouse of Mackenzie Riley, has lived in the Abingdon and Bristol, Va. community her entire life and graduated from Abingdon High School. Suzanne has obtained a Cosmetology License, a Human Services Degree as well as two medical degrees. She maintains a position as a Cosmetologist at a local hair salon where she has performed services for 11 years. She has six years of experience performing Cosmetology services in the funeral industry and considers it to be an honor to serve the families of the community. Suzanne looks forward to putting her skills and knowledge to use while providing the best possible services to families in the community. The Riley’s are of the Baptist religion and are members of the Cross of Christ Worship Center in Bristol, Va.

Matthew, fiancé of Kayla Richardson, was born and raised in Abingdon where he lettered in football and wrestled at Abingdon High School.  He subsequently obtained his Associates Degree from Virginia Highlands Community College and his Bachelors of Science from Liberty University.
He is employed full-time as an E-7 in the Virginia Army National Guard and is full of personality.



Kayla Richardson

Kayla, fiancée of Matthew Riley, was born and raised in Ohio, and attained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bluefield College.  She relocated to Southwest Virginia in 2014 where she has served as an officer for the Town of Abingdon for nearly 10 years.  Kayla is very athletic, is highly competitive, and enjoys spending time outdoors.  

Kayla met Matthew Riley in 2017.  The couple became engaged on December 30, 2022, and  plan to marry in the coming year.

Jeff McVey, an Abingdon native, is a son of the late Floyd A. and Brenda W. McVey. He is a 1983 Graduate of Abingdon High School and an Associate Degree recipient from Volunteer State Community College. He began working in funeral service in Abingdon in 1987. He is a member of the Abingdon Fire Department and a Life Member and Past President of the Southwest Virginia Firefighters Association. He currently resides in Kingsport, Tenn.

Mike is a husband, father, veteran and entrepreuner.  He shares two adult children with his beloved wife, Tina, and he served his country in the United States Army.  Mike has devoted three decades of tireless work as a general contractor and for the past 18 years he has proudly ran Do Little Services, Inc., a reflection of his commitment to excellence.

Shirley is originally from Big Stone Gap, Va.  Prior to her retirement as an Assistant Vice President of First Bank & Trust in 2007, she enjoyed a 35- year career in the banking industry.  


Shirley currently resides in Glade Spring with her husband, Roy Kyle, who retired from the Virginia State Police with 30 years of service.  They have two children and enjoy spoiling their four beautiful grandchildren.  Shirley is also the sister of Ronnie Perry and an aunt to Matthew Perry.  She looks forward to serving the people of Southwest Virginia.

Ronnie “Ron” Perry lives in Kingsport, Tenn. and is formerly of Big Stone Gap, Va.  He is the father of Matthew Perry and is a retired businessman.  Prior to his retirement he also worked in the coal industry for Westmoreland Coal Company.  Ronnie is an avid golfer and attends The Promise Church in Church Hill, Tenn.

Sharon Clendenen is a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a retired educator.  She taught elementary school in the Lee County, Va. School System for 31 years and taught night classes for teachers at Mountain Empire Community College as well.  She is a resident of Kingsport, Tenn. and attends The Promise Church in Church Hill, Tenn.  She looks forward to greeting client families with care and understanding.

Matthew is the only child of Ronald "Ronnie" Perry and the late Jeanie Hall Perry of Big Stone Gap, Va.  He is a graduate of the former Powell Valley High School and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, Ga.  Matthew has consistently held an office with the Southwest Virginia Funeral Directors Association or the Virginia Funeral Directors Association since 2012 and is currently the sitting President of the Virginia Funeral Directors Executive Board.  Matthew’s caring attitude and gentle demeanor accurately portray his belief that client families should be handled with discretion and respect.  The Perrys are of the Southern Baptist faith and are members of Abingdon Baptist Church.

Matthew is also employed as a funeral director at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va.

Amanda is the only child of the late James “Sonny” Reeves, Jr. and Judy Newman Reeves of Harriman, Tenn., and is married to Matthew Perry.  She attained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service from John A. Gupton College in 2009 while simultaneously serving her apprenticeship at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn. She obtained her initial licensure as a Tennessee Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2010. Upon relocating to Virginia, Amanda became licensed to practice funeral directing and embalming in the Commonwealth and expanded her repertoire to include crematory operation, preneed insurance sales and monument sales.  As the daughter of a lifelong educator, the value of learning was instilled in Amanda from an early age, and she subsequently earned her Bachelor's of Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University in 2020.  For the past decade, Amanda has tirelessly devoted her efforts to her career in funeral service.
